Story

Team Nelson's Flavorades/ Nelson McConnell is an eleven year old Entrepreneur who just finished his 5th grade year at Hazel Grove Elementary in Kansas City, KS. He will attend Gloria Willis Middle school in the fall. Nelson is the proud owner of Nelson's Flavorades Established in June of 2018. He was named the MVP of the 1st E-Ship Rising Cohort and was also one of the fist winners of their pitch contest.

The Problem

We've identified that there are an abundance of hot, dry mouths at most every outdoor event on a hot summer day. Over the years, my family and I have enjoyed refreshing concoction we created from fresh fruits and juices, some of which were grown in our own back yard. Why couldn't we help quench that thirst with our amazing citrus elixirs?

The Solution

Nelson’s Flavorade is a beverage company established in June of 2018. Our hand-crafted lemonades are made with fresh lemons and oranges, cut then pressed. Sugar and 100% real fruit purees are added with a shot of flavor & extra burst of lemon. Finally all that flavor is topped off with purified ice and filtered water and shaken into a lip smacking, thirst quenching treat, while you wait.

Target Market

Our main marketing opportunities are outdoor vending and private events, however, we are currently building a presence on social media and creating a website for potential online sales.

Societal Impact

We really just want to make people feel good! We want to help create positive vibes and be a part of your memories!

Next Steps

Nelson's Flavorades is a Mobile business. Future goals are to obtain a vehicle or trailer for our business that would allow for more convenient transport of our set up and equipment or to replace our current set up. We are looking for additional funds or opportunities to earn additional funds toward this purchase.

Reflection

What went well for us is that we had content to choose from for our video. We are still learning what a pitch should look like. I'm certain, with practice, we will get it .
